Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Elizabeth.

I'm a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Registered Nurse, professor, and founder of SafeSprout.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of caring for children and families across emergency nursing, pediatric emergency medicine, maternal-child health, and labor & delivery. Those experiences taught me that while emergencies are unpredictable, preparation can make all the difference.

As a nursing professor, I spend time teaching future healthcare professionals to think critically, respond with confidence, and apply evidence-based practice. Over time, I found myself asking a simple question:

Why should this knowledge belong only to healthcare professionals?

Parents, grandparents, caregivers, educators, community organizations, schools, childcare programs, and businesses all play an important role in keeping children and communities safe. They deserve access to the same trusted, evidence-based education that healthcare teams rely on every day.

That belief became the foundation of SafeSprout.

SafeSprout was created to provide practical, welcoming, and evidence-based education that helps people feel more prepared—not more fearful. Whether teaching Infant & Child CPR, First Aid, professional certification courses, or community safety education, my goal is always the same: to create an environment where questions are encouraged, hands-on learning builds confidence, and every participant leaves better prepared than when they arrived.

I believe every child deserves the freedom to explore, discover, and grow. And every family, educator, caregiver, organization, and community deserves the confidence and knowledge to help protect that journey.
